Tag: Christmas gift guide
I love writing Christmas gift guides but especially the luxury ones, because when else other than Christmas (and your Birthday, perhaps), you can get away with asking for something high-end? Or, maybe, getting a real treat for your loved ones or even for yourself?
So here are my top picks when it comes to luxury beauty products. And I’ve included only the things which I’ve tried myself and loved, or the things that I think deserve attention.
And, yes, I am aware that it is only October but I know a lot of people who like to plan in advance.
1. Liberty London Advert, £215 from the 16th of October.
This is the ultimate beauty gift, in my opinion. My husband very kindly got it for me last Christmas, and it was one of the best gifts ever. It is worth £600 so £215 is a bargain, if I dare say so.
Alternative: I have posted a lot of other Advent Beauty Calendars on my Facebook page.
2. Goutal Perfumes, £110/£132 for 100 ml from Liberty, Escentual, Harrods.
There is something so special about the Goutal Paris perfumes (the brand was called Annick Goutal previously). The scents are exquisite and sophisticated, the bottles are gorgeous and elegant. If money was not an option I would love to have a whole wardrobe of their beautiful fragrances. But, as for now, I am really enjoying Rose Pompon. Also worth mentioning that the brand recently released alcohol free scents.
3. Foreo Gadgets, £119 for a small one or £169 for a big version from Cult Beauty and Nordstrom.
Brilliant Swedish brand which offers a big variety of facial cleansing and massaging devices, toothbrushes and more. Not only the design is Scandi-chic, the gadgets last forever (here, here, here are mine) but they also are very effective.
4. Omorovicza Skincare Sets Replenish & Restore Collection shown, £95 from Cult Beauty
It’s not a secret that am a big fan of Omorovicza, and, obviously, had to include their sets in the guide. My skin loves it, and that justifies the price tag for me. The set I’ve chosen includes: Miracle Facial Oil (30ml) Rejuvenating Night Cream (15ml), and Omoressence (50ml) .
Alternatives: 111skin, Anne Semonin. Both brands with a hefty price tags which I’ve tried some products from, and loved.
5. Luxury Hair Care: Leonor Greyl, Long Hair Volume Set, €120 from
I love me a luxury hair care products, and Leonor Greyl is as good, as it gets. Everything I’ve tried from the brand was exceptional quality:
Please excuse the lack of updates, it has been crazy busy work and other projects wise, so I had no chance of updating the website, although I really wanted to.
But today I want to give some male grooming products gifts ideas a shout out. I have actually written a guide, based on my friends’ recommendations a while ago but here are two other products that are worth mentioning. One luxury, and one – a budget option. And you already saw these if you follow me on Instagram.
The luxury option is Charles Farris Grand Cascade Signature Reed Diffuser ( £32 from their website or from Amazon UK).
It is described as a “deep, smoky aroma of cedar, aged leather and birch, offset by fresh moss and amber. Inspired by the aged leather and woodsmoke scents of our heritage industries”, and it is exactly that. This would make an excellent gift for a classy and sophisticated man who appreciates luxury products.
The budget option is
What beauty related poduct can you get for a girl who already has it all? That is easy actually. Get her a luxury lipstick. And we are talking not only luxury but also niche. We all know it is not only about the product itself, it is also about the sensations and the emotions.
Tom Ford lipstick is always a good idea. But most likely your beauty addict already has one or ten of those already. So surprise her with Rodin or Oribe. Yes, that is right. Those two brands now only do lipsticks, and not only.
So far the lines are really well edited with only five options from Rodin and three from Oribe.
Oribe Lip Lust Crème Lipstick, $42/€37 from Net a Porter
“Delivers luminous colour in a satin finish. Ultra-comfortable formula glides onto lips for a silky, indulgent feel while an infusion of White Lily and Myrrh moisturizes, protects and visibly plumps lips. Full-impact colour. Rich yet lightweight crème formula. Melts on with an indulgent, sensual feel. Silky, smooth finish .Provides antioxidant protection.”
The shades are: The Nude, The Red and
I personally do not think about the holidays yet but since the brands already released all their awesome seasonal collections, it seems like a good time to write about the best of the best. I will run my traditional “Holiday Gift Guide” features starting today, so look out for those.
Each post will feature hand picked products which I personally think would make an amazing gift. And I hope you enjoy reading these, as much, as I love picking the products from all the variety we have today.
Today’s edition is all about the luxury products. All four kits look absolutely divine, and although I already have everything I need and more, I would not say no to any of these myself!
Smith & Cult nail polishes are so gorgeous that I can’t imagine any girl not liking them. My precious!
The shades featured in this stylish set are:
If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve probably already seen a preview of this new beauty book (it was released in October by Jacqui Small) – Gary Cockerill Simply Glamorous.
I wanted to put up this feature before Christmas, as it may be a book to consider as a present for a girl who loves her glamorous looks. And this book is all about glamour, a lot of false lashes, smoky eyes and red lips.
Of course, such book could only be pink, the perfect choice to fit the content.
So what is inside?
Gary starts with telling his story ( he is a celebrity make-up artist and has been working in the industry for 15+ years), and his view on makeup, which was interesting to read. I personally liked that he is self-taught and doesn’t believe in “makeup rules”.
Next we get some basic tips on skincare and just some general suggestions which a lot of girls will find useful. The make-up artist then covers all the basics from matching your foundation, applying concealer and powder to the new trend which is contouring. Everything is covered, and it is a great guide even for the beginners.
There are the same chapters about eyes and lips, too. They explain everything pretty well: from textures to the application techniques. How to groom your eye brows, how to apply eye liner, different lip products textures, all of it basically. All the
