This week was quite eventful in the beauty world, as Lisa Eldridge launched her Summer makeup collection. Of course, I loved the look of everything.
The thing is that I have too many liquid highlighters and blushes already to get any new ones. I am also not the biggest lipsticks wearer. This is why I chose a gloss. I was torn between Charm described as “a sweet, shimmery candy pink” and Delilah “a retro-futuristic, pinky violet shimmer”.
I went for Charm in the end, as it seemed like a great colour for an every day.
The photos of Lisa’s new releases are taking the Instagram by storm but here is an in-depth review. Spoiler – Gloss Embrace is as good, as you’d expect it to be.
There is a great attention to the detail:
I have a slight obsession with cool-toned shimmering lip glosses, the sadly discontinued Guerlain’s KissKiss Gloss in 800 Crystal Pearl has to be my favourite gloss in the World. I am actually always on a hunt for a good dupe. Plus, despite having tonnes of lip products, this is the kind of lip glosses that I manage to use up.
This is why I had to pick up new L’Oreal Glam Shine in Dazzle 201 Sparkle Shower. By the way, there are tonnes of gorgeous shades and several finishes in the line, so they are definitely worth checking out.
And this gloss is really nice, it feels great on the lips, moisturizing, non-sticky or gloopy at all. I also like the applicator (similar to YSL) which “hugs” the lips and helps with the application. While this shade is quite forgiving that may be something useful with darker and brighter colours.
I also have to mention a
Daniel Sandler kindly treated me to some of his new products from the summer collection. And today I want to show you the Luxury Glosses which I liked a lot.
There are two colours available – Skinny Dip and Vivid Energy, and both are Limited Edition.
I don’t know why but no matter how much I’ve tried, I could not capture the Vivid Energy as it looks like in real life. And it is a bold and vivid coral, it is definitely not so orange as it looks on the photos. It gives a glossy, juicy and opaque coverage which is just perfect for summer. Would look great with a simple eye makeup! I personally would be crazy about such an opaque fuchsia shade.
The other shade, Skinny Dip, is a perfect nudish gloss with a beautiful shimmer. I am sure a lot of women would like it as it goes with everything and has a perfect amount of shimmer, nothing over the top, it just makes your lips look beautiful and full. It looks great on a lot of skin tones (I have tried actually) and will look perfect on tanned skin. This one lives in my handbag now, by the way.
I really like the applicators, the are big and soft and allow a smooth application of the gloss.
I was very excited to get my Clarins sets that I’ve ordered when Feel Unique had a discount so today I want to tell you about the lip glosses set which is absolutely amazing.

I have heard so many raves about both, especially about the Instant Lip Perfector and now I can see why. When I tied this gloss for the first time my lips were very dry and chapped but after just several minutes they looked and felt much better! It was actually hard to believe. The gloss has a delicious scent and a beautiful formula. The colour is sheer and delicate, perfect for an every day use.
These are definitely in my top products now. And now I also want the shades #2 Apricot Shimmer.
As for the Quench Lip Balm, it is a
I always like trying new brands and products and I have huge list of those that I still “need” to try. So last week I’ve got my very first Anna Sui which I have been using every single day this week.
The lip gloss I have is called Anna Sui Sui Lip Gloss in 001. It is a clear lip gloss with some shiny stars which are unlikely to come out, so don’t worry about them. But they make the gloss look cute and interesting.
The first thing that caught my attention were the roses on the packing and the rose cap of the gloss. Plus as a huge fan of everything that smells roses, I was delighted to find out that the gloss smells like roses, too. It reminds me of Jo Malone Red Roses which I adore.
I really love the texture and consistency of the gloss, too. I find it glossy and moisturizing, it has no shine or glitter in it, just this perfect wet glossy finish, as if the surface of the lake (if that makes sense). I think this is a perfect product for summer. It will look super sexy with tanned skin and bronzed/turquoise makeup.
I am also impressed with the
