When I saw these makeup bags from Angelique Velez, called Breakups to Makeup, I fell totally in love. I’ve created a draft and set myself a reminder to write a feature and tell you about them. But I was very busy lately and completely forgot about it.
Unfortunately, at these point these are sold out from Sephora but I’ve found some from Urban Outfitters.
But, honestly, how cool are these? Despite the fact that I have tonnes of makeup bags – I would really want both of them. Plus, I like the story behind the brand and also think that a good sense of humour makes everything better.
And, yes, the message is spot on!
It seems like it’s now a tradition to show you what beauty and makeup products I take with me when I am away, just like in this post. So, since I am currently visiting my family, here is a quick update on what products I took with me.
To tell the truth, I barely wear any makeup these days but I did take quite a few products (and a lot of brushes) since people always ask me for a makeover.
I am very happy with the skincare that I’ve packed with me, including a lot of mini bottles which I am currently testing. I only wish I took more than three nail polishes, as my 5-years-old-cousin loves to borrow them 🙂
Speaking of my cousin, she insisted on inspecting my “treasures” as she described my makeup bag… When she saw the red lipstick I had, she told me that she had to put it on me, since it’d make me look gorgeous. What can I say? She does know beauty.
If you follow me on Twitter, you know that I am currently away for the second week. Unfortunately, I am busy from dusk till dawn but I do appreciate the productive working time.
Here is a sneak preview of what I’ve packed makeup and beauty wise with me. I was very strict with myself, and limited it all to one (no7 Boots) travel makeup bag.
Here is what makeup I had with me. All products from my current top 5 luxury makeup favourites post, a lot of Rouge Bunny Rouge products, as I plan to write a feature for the brand soon, three blushes (I ended up using only tarte) and three lip shades, inducing my Tom Ford lipstick.
As for skincare, this is
My Mum doesn’t wear makeup. Only lipstick sometimes. But recently she decided to change her hair style, got some new clothes and asked me if I could select some makeup for her.
Wow! I definitely approve 😉
She has light skin, dark hair and eyes, so here are the basics that I have chosen. She doesn’t need that many products simply because she won’t even use them – so, knowing her taste and requirements, here is what I’ve chosen:
I am not yet 100% sure about the foundation that will suit her the best. So far she liked this Bourjois one (shown on the photo). But if you have suggestions for a lady around 50 with dry skin, feel free to share. And thanks to everyone on Twitter for their recommendations!
Blush is a must have in a makeup bag of any girl, in my opinion, as it instantly changes the appearance. This Max Factor blush is one of my personal favourites and I know that it will look great on her, too. Will have to pick up another one soon, as I am giving away my personal one.
I always like to see what other people take with them when they are travelling. I was away for about a week and this is what makeup I had with me. I did not plan to wear any makeup most of the time so this is why there are very few products.
I am not going to write a lot about the products as I already reviewed most of them.
1. Max Factor Second Skin Foundation. It is my favourite right now and I’ve almost used it up as you can see. Review.
2. Revlon ColorStay Under Eye Concealer. Review
3. BECCA Beach Tints in Watermelon and Grapefruit, I love these a lot. Review
4. Mini High Beam by Benefit.
5. MAC 217 and 239 eye brushes.
