Illamasqua Human Fundamentalism Collection Review and Swatches

So, as promised, here are my thoughts on some Illamasqua products from their Human Fundamentalism collection.

I have already posted swatches and my thoughts about the Nomad nail varnish so this post will be about the eye shadows and the Sealing Gel.

The best thing about receiving Illamasqua packages  – their booklets and all extra creative little things like a beautiful envelope with a name and a piece of colourful cloth. And a candy, of course!

So, besides the Nomad nail varnish, I have Powder Eye Shadows in Vernau (yellow ochre) and CanCan (bright lilac purple).

Actually I also have Fatal eye shadow (deep royal purple) which is not from this collection but I thought I would include it as I am talking about the eye shadows. Each retails for £15.50.

Here is how they look like in the pan.

Here is also a  Sealing Gel (set of  2 x 6ml  is £10.50). It is a liquid which you can mix with any product you want to create a ‘colour-intense, water-resistant paste that dries quickly and lasts for hours’.

I have been wearing these eye shadows for

Trish McEvoy Fall Makeup Collection Review and Swatches

I was given  some products from Trish McEvoy’s Fall makeup collection to try out.

Here is what I have: Medium Refillable Double–Decker Compact  £12/$18 with Soft Grey Eye Shadow £12/$16, Deluxe Eye Shadow in French Vanilla,  Golden Bronzer, £22/$32, and Brush 62 Fan £28/$36.

I really like the Double-Decker Compact as I have already said. It is very convenient for storing your makeup. In the medium size you can have one blush and one bronzer, or four deluxe eye shadows, or eight eye shadows.

As for the eye shadows,

Want It: theBalm Meet Matt(e) Eye Shadows Palette

Besides the Too Faced palette of matte  eye shadows,  here is one more that I want. It is from theBalm and it is called Meet Matt(e).

I think the design and the idea are really great and it’s a really pretty palette. I haven’t tried theBalm eye shadows myself (yet) but I’ve heard a lot of great things about them.

This palette is already available in the US for $34.50 so I can’t wait till we get it here.

And what about you? Do you love matte eye shadows?

Make Up For Ever Eye Shadows Review, Photos and Swatches

I have  got these eye shadows last May so I am not sure why I am writing about them only now. But it is better late then never.  Rejoice lovers of bright summer makeup looks as this post is for you!

I have picked my shadows at US Sephora for $19 each (they cost £14.95 in the UK).

The shades that I have chosen are:

  • Yellow 2 (matte brilliant yellow)
  • Orange Coral Matte 5 (matte vibrant coral)
  • Apple Green 91 (matte bright yellow green)

And I would love  even more shades for e.g  Neon Pink 75 (bright fuchsia pink), Turquoise Matte 72 (matte vibrant turquoise), Matte Blue 159, Purple 92 (matte brilliant purple) and many, many more.

I know that  a lot of people are scared of such colours but there is no reason to be!  I find that if the rest of your face is natural you can easily pull off any of the shades that I have. I love encouraging  my friends to try bold colours and I would love to encourage my readers as well! After all, it is just makeup and you can always take it off!

This is how the eye shadows look like in the pans.

So now I will tell you about each shade in more details and will

Want It: Too Faced Matte Eye Shadow Collection

I am a big fan of Too Faced eye shadow palettes, so I was happy to see the brand new palette which is called Matte Eye Shadow Collection and which is exclusive to Sephora so far.

This palette contains nine wearable matte eye shadows, cards with makeup looks suggestions and brush. And this all comes in a beautiful package.

3 x 0.07 oz Eye Shadows in:

  • Tufted Suede (soft tan)
  • Velveteen Bunny (ivory)
  • Fresh Linen (pale pink)

6 x 0.03 oz Eye Shadows in

  • Chinchilla (light warm brown)
  • Coffee Bean (dark brown)
  • Pebbles (gray)
  • London Fog (deep blue)
  • Vintage Violet (violet mauve)
  • Midnight (charcoal gray)

Now this palette looks like a must have and I really hope it will be available not only in the States later. But so far you get in only at Sephora for $36.
