I have nail polish on my toe nails almost all year round but summer is the time when everyone else can see it. And…comment on it. This is exactly what my friend, male-who-is-forty-years-old, did. I was actually shocked as he is the person who could not care less about my nail polish.
He: What’s with your nails?
Me: What is it?
He: Well, your manicure matches the dress (while it most certainly wasn’t). And what about the pedicure? Why is it red?
Me: Hmmm… Doesn’t red go with everything?
And do you match your madi and pedi? Do you go for one colour or just try to co-ordinate the shades? Or maybe you just could not care less and would easily wear acid green for your mani and matte pink for your pedi or whatever your choice would be?
Today I am wearing this beautiful nail polish by Essence which is called So Glamorous. This is 100% my colour, I love it! The quality is nice for the price and I am happy with my purchase. I think the small Essence nail polishes are great and I would like to get many more shades.
And what nail polish are you currently wearing? I want to get a pastel yellow and a subtle lime green for Spring.
Today I am wearing Revlon’s Revlon Red, which I had to get after seeing the swatches of it online, and I have mixed feeling about it. I like a lot of products from Revlon and I really wanted to like the nail polish, too, especailly after reading some great reviews.
So why do I have mixed feelings? First of all lets start with the positive things about it!
The colours are really beautiful and there are quite a lot to choose from. I have 2 Revlon nail polishes and they are both very beautiful! The colours are very pigmented and are opaque with only one layer (but two layers give a even better coverage).
Now this swatch is just UGLY! I know. But I just wanted to show what I mean by saying that I can’t manage to use this brush – the nail polish is all over the place as you can see and I can’t manage to paint my nails near the cuticle. But the colour however is stunning! I am showing you only one nail because all the others look the same unfortunately.
And what I don’t like about it. For some reason Revlon nail polishes don’t stay for a long time on me even after I’ve used a Seche Vite top coat. I am also not sure if I like the brush, maybe I just need to get used to it but that is obviously my personal preference. I am not saying that it’s a bad brush but for some reason I can’t use it without making a huge mess.
I will try to experiment with these nail polishes more and I really hope that they will stay on for a longer time. It is such a shame that it starts chipping on the second day as the colours are SO beautiful.
And for how long does the Revlon nail polish stay on your nails?
Those of you who follow me on twitter probably already saw this photo of me wearing Ellis Faas Creamy Lips in L101 Ellis Red which is just amazing! According to the brand it should look nice on every skin tone. They also have the famous Ellis Red in other formulas: Milky Lips L201 and Glazed Lips L301 so you can choose a formula, too.
As for the nail polish I am wearing Revlon’s Valentine and although I absolutely love the colour I am not happy with the application and the brush. But I will write about both products in more details later, so stay tuned!
I plan to show you some other red and plum lip products over the next few weeks. And I would really love to hear what lip shades are you loving now? By the way, have you seen my tips onhow to wear a red lipstick?
