This is the most beautiful lipstick design that I have ever seen. Gold and silver metal case with a curved detail, a work of art.
It comes in a signature minimalistic white box and a little dust bag, and when you pay £45, you do want all those extra things.
Although I loved everything I tried at Byredo counter, it is this lipstick I had to get. It was love at first sight.
299 Matte Mad Red is such a show-stopper, a full-on opaque cool-toned red. This lipstick instantly elevates the whole look! You only need one swipe for a long-lasting, uber-intense colour pay-off. It glides on like a dream and feels lightweight on the lips. Forget cakey and heavy matte lip products.
If you don’t want to commit to a perfectly shaped and dramatic effect, gently apply (tap) it with your fingers or a brush for a blurry/stained result.
Did I “need” this lipstick? Absolutely not. But am I happy I’ve got it? You bet! After writing about beauty and makeup for over 16 years now, the product has to be very special for me to go mad for it. And this Mad Red is exactly that product.
