Clarins Kohl Kajal Long-Lasting Eyeliner in Black and Violet Review and Swatches

Here are the two kajals from Clarins summer 2012 makeup collection, one  is purple and the other one is black and each retails for £15.

I actually really like these for what they are, they have a nice India inspired, design, are very soft and don’t cost a fortune. It is also written that these are formulated  with rose and mimosa extracts.

When it comes to my own makeup, I usually use a soft (most of the time dark brown) eye liner, smudge  it, add mascara and that is all. So these two are actually perfect for that! Clarin’s Kajals apply smoothly and blend easily. I love blending them really well so that I get a thin layer that lasts  for hours on me. Then I also build up the colour closer to the lash line. This is an perfectly easy look as you can get a variation of shades with only  one product.

But I have to say that if you have oily lids ( I did try it on the model with oily eyelids for this review) you will need to use a primer as, otherwise, it won’t stay on for the whole day without creasing.

I really like using mine and would definitely want them in different colours.

Here are the swatches.

Conclusion? These are amazing for a smoky eye and they are pretty long -lasting, but make sure that you use a primer if you have oily eyelids.

  1. I had the violet one in my hand recently, and gave it up in favour of a similarly-hued one from Guerlain…now you have me wondering if I shouldn’t pick this up as well! A girl can never have too many khol kajals, you know!
