Two months of 2017 are down, wow, how did it happen? But this means that it is time for monthly favourites.
To be honest, I loved/used pretty much the same products as in January, and there are very few additions.
Also, this month most of the the products I have been loving are very cheap affordable. Let’s take a look.
I have started using my lip liners more often – especially the ArtDeco Soft Lip Liner Waterproof in 80 (review and swatches) and Rimmel Exaggerate Full Colour Lip Lipner in East End Snob (review and swatches). I actually want to get the Rimmel one in red now, too. I don’t really overdraw my lips like there is no tomorrow, I mainly use them to create the shape I want, and make the lipstick look more defined. But if you want to create fuller lips – this video from Lisa Eldridge is pretty awesome.
The other cheap and cheerful product I loved is the Makeup Revolution Natural Nudes Eyeshadow Redemption Palette Iconic 3 (you can get it from Amazon UK or Amazon) which, according to all the reviews is a dupe for Urban Decay’s Naked 3. I have so many Urban Decay palettes which I have been buying over the years, but for some reason I barely ever use them, however I have been reaching for this Revolution one all the time. There are several shades I really love, and the quality is very decent, in my opinion. This palette was a present from a friend.
It’s not a secret that my favourite affordable skincare brand is Garnier, I love pretty much everything they release for dry skin, this is why I simply had to try the newest sheet mask, after buying one, and loving it, I have stocked up on their Moisture Bomb Tissue Masks. They are affordable and easily available, unlike some of the Korean sheet masks I have used in the past, and loved. Thumbs up for Garnier yet again.
Perfume wise, it has to be Charriol Eau de Parfum. I have been going through my perfume samples, and discovered this one. It is described as a woody-oriental fragrance with the notes of juniper berries, orange blossom, mango, incense, frangipani flower, vanilla orchid, amber, tonka and patchouli. And, for me, it is the most perfect end-of-Winter scent, I wouldn’t wear it in summer as it is warm and sensual, and I like something fresh-er for SS. I have been carrying this little sample with me everywhere. I will be getting a bottle, for sure.
Lately, I have been really into skincare, reading and watching as much useful information, as I can. And I have to say that I am very happy with the way my skin looks now. I have also started educating myself on retinols ( I recommend this video) and different vitamins. I have purchases La Roche Posay Redermic R to begin with, and obviously now I have to be more diligent with my SPF. My product of choice these days is Clarins Sun Wrinkle Control Cream For Face High Protection UVB/UVA 30 (available from Selfridges,Harrods, Escentual.com, Nordstorm, Sephora, Bergdorf Goodman) While this is not a “city SPF”, it works just fine for me, and I find that I don’t have any problems applying my makeup, too.
Last but no least, I really loved Daniel Sandler’s Blending Brush (from Feel Unique ) this month, it is made of natural hair, feels very soft, and blends nicely, you can’t possibly mess up with this brush.
Other than beauty, I have been also into watching and re-watching some old black and white films, Spring cleaning my wardrobe, getting rid of the things I don’t need and replacing them, and also with watching carefully what I am eating for health purposes. I am also very pleased that I have finished Yoga With Adrienne 30 days challenge which I do third year in a row with her,
I am very excited for March, as I have so many exciting things planned.
