I have to say that I am a bit of a shower gel snob, and that doesn’t mean that I don’t like a good ol’ Nivea or similar brands, it is just sometimes you get so busy that shower can be the only “me/relaxation” time. This is why it really matters what products I am using.
For me the most important factor is the scent, I love me a good aroma-therapy session. I also want it to be non-drying but I have to use a cream/butter after any shower product. Yes, any.
Kiehl’s Original Musk caught my attention because of the name, obviously, I like musky/warm scents, especially in winter. And it being Kiehl’s I’ve also expected high quality.
Moreover, I like the fact that it is believed to be created in the 1920’s, and in 1963 it was a part of the Kiehl’s permanent line, and was called “Love Oil”. I am a sucker for a good story, even if it is just marketing. Because let’s face it, a cult product which was popular for decades is a great excuse to treat yourself and enjoy it.
I like the minimalistic and apothecary-style design, and the scent, of course. I don’t find it to be overpowering, in fact, I would even like it to be stronger (but I like strongly scented bath products).
The formula itself lathers nicely, and leaves the skin clean and with a nice subtle scent.
Overall, I really like this shower gel, and if you like nicely scented products tested by time, this is a good one to get. Also, I would not say that it is expensive compared to some other shower gels I have. Seems like I need a matching body lotion!
You can buy Kiehl’s from Nordstrom, Selfridges, Feel Unique, Macy’s.
PS. My latest shower wish list is from SachaJuan.
