Lancome’s Fall 2010 collection which is called French Coquettes was created by Aaron de Mey. He was inspired by the 1870 to the 1920 period of French history and independent and strong women like Kiki de Montparnasse, Sarah Bernhardt and Edith Wharton.
Promo photos were made by Mario Testino. The models are Daria Werbowy and Elettra Wiedemann.
Daria Werbowy represents light and delicate style, subtle elegant lilac eye makeup and quite natural lips.
Elettra Wiedemann is the 20’s Goddess, full of uncompromising self-confidence, with beautiful smoky eyes makeup, perfect brows and vampy lipstick.
Collection includes:
- Ombre Absolu Palette
- Bloody Black Cherry
- Metropolitan Beige
Ombre Magnetique
- 01 Urban Silver
- 02 Cherry Cherie
- 03 Black Macadam
De Mey’s interpretation of “Versailles lipstick” inspired by Kiki de Montparnasse, Sarah Bernhardt and Edith Wharton and Daria Werbowy.
- 300 Beige Edith
- 302 Rose Daria
- 304 Cherry Sarah

As I already said , I like the idea behind the collection and I will be sure to check it when it’s available.
I read an article about Aaron de Mey in a local magazine before. He looks like a pop star, haha! But what wonderful views he has on make-up on women, and he created fantastic looks. Did you know he studied painting, which is his inspiration for using the face as a kind of canvas? I find both looks on the promo shots fascinating, though the post-production of the photograph is a little overboard polished… Like Demi Moore for HR, you know?
Pop star?:) I’d say he looks like a rock star and I love his style! Yes, I read everything I could find about him( I even made a post about him here http://www.makeup4all.com/person-of-the-month-aaron-de-mey/ ) I am so happy that he is a part of Lancome now!
Yes, sometimes they use to much photoshop on the celebrities.
