I have to say that I am not the biggest lipstick fan… That being said, I found myself reaching for the First Dance lipstick by Charlotte Tilbury non-stop in December. For some reason, I wasn’t feeling red, and this “blushed berry-rose” shade (and it is exactly that) came in very handy.
It is not a regular Matte Revolution but rather a part of the brand’s Look of Love collection which includes 4 shades. They all have crystals decorated cases and hearts with wings on the actual lipsticks.
Other than that, it has a signature shape which I personally find very helpful when applying straight from the bullet. There is also the not too intense scent that is also valid for the CT lipsticks.
I love how gorgeous this shade looks no matter the application. A flush of colour with a barely there “blurred” effect or a full on glam with lip liner and a layer or a few of the lipstick.
First Dance saw me through all the Christmas and New Year related festivities. It complimented all the makeup looks and all the outfits (or so I thought). I even put it on for the muddy and gloomy walks, that’s how much I loved it!
Formula-wise, I did not find it drying but it’s not a lip balm either, if you know what I mean. I also thought the lipstick to be pretty long-wearing. But, at the end of the day, there is nothing a little touch up can’t fix.
This was a present from one of my girlfriends, and she knew exactly which shade I’d like. Really impressed and very grateful.
