So this is the 4th Maybelline nail polish that I got. It is called Punky Orange and it is a beautiful pastel coral shade which looks amazing in a bottle.
But to get this shade on the nails – you’d need at least 3 layers and yet I can’t say that it’s opaque. The colour is beautiful but I don’t like to have so many coats of nail polish on my nails.
pretty color, but yes, it does look like it’d take WAY too many coats to get it highly pigmented 🙁

I agree, vonnie
That’s the problem with so many polish offerings from Maybelline: you need too many coats. By the time you get a base coat, three or four coats of color, then a top coat, your nails feel unnatural and uncomfortable. Too bad because some of the colors are lovely.
Hi Eileen (nice to see you), that’s true, but not all shades are like this. I also got a bright pink shade which looks quite opaque with only 1 layer and with 2 coats it looks perfect. I will post about it next week.
I love the coral colour! Your ring is very pretty too 🙂
Thank you, Pinch. It was a gift from a friend 🙂
I love the coral colour… looks FAB on you and what a great colour for the summer sun! But I don’t think I could be bothered with three coats… Who’s got that long to do their nails anyway!!!???!!!
I dislike having to do more than 2 coats, especially since I always wear a base coat and Seche. I love the color on you though.
The color’s beautiful but it’s a shame it’s not that pigmented. I find that’s a common problem with most Maybelline polishes. You need so many coats that application becomes such a hassle and so time consuming.
I happy to hear that you that you all agree! The colour is pretty indeed but I wish you could get it with less amount of coats.
