The Ultimate Spring Guide: Fashion

Here is the first part of my Spring Guide, which is beauty related. But I’ve decided to write a fashion/style related one, as well, as I am in the middle of re-organizing my wardrobe completely. So, hopefully, some of you will find it helpful and will do the same.

1. Get Inspired.

Start a Fashion & Style board on Pinterest and save there all the looks you like.  It will make you see/realize what you prefer, and will also help you shop smarter. Here is my board, if you want to take a look/follow me.

2.  Educate Yourself

There are so many options out there, so it is easy to get confused and overwhelmed, this is when stylists and people who work in fashion can be a great help. Get yourself some books to find out their tips and tricks.  I personally plan on getting Louise Row’s Front Roe. I have been stalking her on Instagram, and her style is always on point.

3. Spring Cleaning

Get rid of all the things you don’t need, and be honest and brutal about it. Most likely, if you did not wear it in a year (or 5 😉 ), most likely – you won’t.  I’ve discussed this with some of my girlfriends – and they all have their own rules, so think of yours and DO IT! Trust me, there is nothing like a de-cluttered closet and space in general.

I’ve found all this back in one of my closest WHAT is this. Pastel yellow? Turquoise sequins? Now words. PS. I’ve kept the Spice Girls hoodie. That is a lot of memories.

4. Make Lists.

This simple step makes things so much easier, just write down what is still missing in your closet, or what you want to get, and take it with you when you go shopping. Also, from my experience, I find that it’s easier to get one or two things from your list at a time,  instead of trying to find everything at once. Give it time! Instead of buying 10 average things that you don’t like that much, get one that you love. I have been practising it this way – and now I am not so terrified of shopping.

5. Experiment

I try thinking outside my comfort zone when it comes to fashion these days.  I know what I love, and my taste has been pretty much the same for the last 10-15 years. But  sometimes it is worth trying on something different. It is only clothes, you can always take it off. But what if it you look killer in it? Like the turquoise floral printed trousers which I never thought I’d get.

You can take a friend who has a good taste with you. It is always a lot of fun, and opinion of the person you trust never hurts.

Some basics I’ve bought this month. Don’t worry, I did get some fun things, too.

And don’t forget about accessories… and bags 😉
