Recently I was talking a lot about lipsticks with some girls I work with, and this inspired me to wear a different shade each day for a month. I wear the same ones over, and over again but considering how many I have it was about time to change my habit. So here are the ones I wore last week…
NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Transylvania (lip swatch)
I am obsessed with it, as you may know, I have to stop myself from wearing it every single day. It is the most perfect vampy (Hey, Drac! yes, I absolutely had to do it) shade. Whenever I wear it – I am always asked about it. The formula is not too drying and can be applied evenly. This is the most affordable product from the selection and there are tonnes of other colours in the line.
Illamasqua Intense Lipgloss in Boost (review and lip swatch)
Technically this is not a lipstick but, as the name suggests, it is pretty intense when layered so I’ve included it, too. It smells of sweets, feels moisturising on and is the most unique shade out of these all, a violet with a blue base, so beautiful.
ArtDeco Soft Lip Liner Waterproof in #8 and Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Tesoro (review and lip swatches). Wearing this combo on my Twitter profile photo.
This is my ultimate red, I just love it. Stila liquid lipsticks are probably the best ones I’ve tried. But this particular shade, Tesoro, is a bit too warm-toned for my liking, so I mix it with a long-lasting ArtDeco lip liner. It just doesn’t move and creates that show stopping effect. I wore it both to work and to a rock concert in the evening on that day.
Bagsy Lip Velvet Soft Matte Lip Colour in 04 Living the Dream (brand preview here)
I used to be a fan of such pink in my early twenties, and had a huge selection of shades but now I barely wear them so it was nice to rock that girly colour again. Living the Dream is a nice every day pink which is not too cool or too warm. And the formula is really interesting, it is almost weightless, you can barely feel it on the lips. I will post a more detailed review of two Bagsy lip products (available from Feel Unique) I have soon, so stay tuned.
Clarins Instant Light Lip Balm Perfector in 06 Rosewood (review and swatches of other shades)
I don’t really do a nude lip, and I am not a big fan but this nude is perfect. I have actually almost used it up. First of all, you just can’t go wrong with Clarins Lip Perfectors formula, they are a cult product for a reason. And, as for Rosewood, it is a balmy nude that just adds that polished gloss without washing you out.
Which is your favourite? The most “me” products are definitely the NYX and Stila combo – but I like experimenting with other colours, too.
