Clarins Extra-Comfort Foundation Review and Swatches. Rave

I have already reviewed Clarins  Instant Concealer  which is pretty awesome. But what about the foundation from the line?

Clarins Extra-Comfort Foundation (£35 for 30 ml) comes in a glass jar which is very chic and luxurious to look at,  but not very practical (especially when you are in a hurry) in so many ways. But that is the only thing that’s not my favourite in this foundation, everything else I adore.

“Anti-Ageing, Replenishes, Illuminates.” This is how the brand describes the product, and I would agree.

I have dry skin, and I love everything [yes, I do realize that I’ve already said that] about this foundation, it is so good! I don’t even know where to start…

The Illuminating claims? It delivers! I was sick at home for a week and this foundation instantly (yes, the name speaks for itself) transformed my skin from dull  into a glowing and polished version (of course, with the help of the right skincare). Seriously, I was very impressed.

The finish is dewy, luminous, and radiant, and since I don’t like matte on myself, this is love. Plus I like how smoothly it applies ( it contains Brown Algae extract, Acacia gum, Organic Argan Oil and White Tea) and the fact that it doesn’t enhance any dry patches.

The coverage is medium-to-full.  I personally don’t need concealer with this foundation, as  it covers all the (nothing serious, luckily) imperfections that I have and perfectly evens out the skin tone.

Here is how the shade Nude 105 looks like applied but not blended in properly, hopefully you can see the finish and the coverage.

I have been using this foundation for several weeks on myself, and I can’t wait to try it on a mature lady to see the results.

Clarins is available from Escentual.com,  Nordstorm,  Sephora, Bergdorf GoodmanSelfridges,Harrods.

  1. wow… it seems very interesting product ! I’m fan of the Dior one (fluid nude) but I’m always looking for a better one… of course 😉
I have “mature” skin (I’m 54) dry and also deshydrated… let us know as soon as your try it on a similar skin of mine !!!
    ciao ciao

    1. Hi HélèneSud,
If you like dewy finish, you may like this one. I have (and like) Dior Nude Skin-Glowing Makeup but this one I like better for dry skin.

  2. I have a couple drugstore foundations I’m trying to use up at the moment, but when I run out, I think I’ll go straight to Clarins (and not YSL, despite their very popular offerings)! Thanks for this post Marina!!!

    Hi Marina,

I am looking for this foundation but can’t seem to find it. Where did you purchase yours?
