Clarins Instant Definition Mascara Intense Plum Review and Swatches

So here is the next product, I have already reviewed the 3-Dot Eye Liner, from Clarins’ Autumn collection that I want to tell you about.

I have been wearing this mascara for around three weeks almost every week. And I am glad that I did not post my review earlier because  I have changed my opinion about it from liking to loving a lot.

To tell the truth, it’s because I was expecting a mascara that would really make my lashes look purple… And it did not. But first of all, it is called intense plum, not bright lilac, so it was not supposed to be a bright lilac, as I was picturing it (I actually used to have such mascara in the past, so maybe this why I had such expectations).

Although the colour hardly showed on my lashes, it just did not look as intense as black and it was hard to say that it was purple, I kept wearing it.   And I am happy that I did. You’ll find out why soon 😉

I love the brush a lot as it allows you to use it even on the shortest lashes which is great. And I also love the general effect of Instant Definition mascara: it is not very dramatic but not barely there ‘natural’ effect which I hate, it is just on-spot for an every day look. I don’t  get a false lash effect but enough length and volume for me to like it and keep in my makeup bag, which is saying a lot, as I have so many mascaras. It does not smudge or fade on me, too.

So what made me change my opinion about the colour, too?

White primer!  My lash colour is not even close to being black cries   but I’ve realized that using a white primer underneath would make a difference. And it did!  It looks as a deep, sophisticated and chic purple when used on a white base. I love it so much now, don’t even know why I wanted a bright lilac mascara. Plus it’s a mascara from Autumn collection after all, so it makes sense for it to be dark.

Now I am in love with this baby and  I think I should get a burgundy mascara, too, I think byTerry have one.

If you want a coloured mascara that is not very bright an intense but still makes a difference – you may love this one. I think it should look especially great on girls with green eyes and maybe on blondes.

The price is £20/$24 It’s a LE.
