January 2016 Beauty Favourites

The first month of 2016 is already behind us. How does it feel? Was it a good one? Are you ready for the rest of 2016? Do you stick to your resolutions? 😉

It was a pretty good month beauty-wise for me, and here are the products I’ve been loving:

January 2016 Beauty Favourites makeup4all

Beauty

Nivea Nourishing Body Lotion For Very Dry Skin and a shower cream from this line. My Dad (!) actually got these two for me for Christmas, and I am really touched that he actually got the right products for my skin type. I usually take them with me when I go swimming but use them on a daily basis, too.  I love how soft and smooth my skin feels afterwards, and how nice it smells. Considering how quickly I go through body creams and lotions it is nice to have something budget-friendly, as well.

Jo Malone Red Roses Cologne

I honestly don’t understand how could I miss the fact that Jo Malone discontinued Vanilla & Anise (and WHY would they do it?) so I am left with a half bottle only.  At least I can still get this scent. Red Roses is definitely not for everyone, some of my friends laugh that I smell like a rose jam whenever I use it, and it may be a bit weird to smell like this when you wear a lot of black, leather, and red… but hey, life is supposed to be fun. I also have a candle which I adore as much as the cologne.

CND Solar Oil

I was getting gel manicure for about 6 months non-stop but once I was too busy to go to my manicurist who is absolutely amazing but works far away from my home (and work, too), and had to rush to the nearest salon as my nails were looking disgusting at that point. I can’t believe how much the girl who worked there damaged my nails. Now I can’t have gels for some time, and I am trying to restore them. Solar oil, a favourite of many manicurists I know, has a wonderful thick  consistency, it moisturises and nourishes the cuticles perfectly.

Clarins Santal Face Oil

A good oil is a must have for me, especially in cold(er) months. This high-quality one from Clarins smells nice, and leaves the skin glowing, for real. I use it every day, as a part of my  evening skincare routine.

First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads

Brilliant, effective yet gentle (AHA) exfoliating pads which do exactly what is promised – tone and brighten the skin, it is also smoother and I would even say radiant. No wonder this is a favourite of so many people, I’ve bought mine after reading all the raves.

Makeup

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Transylvania (as mentioned here) I’ve only got it in the last week of January but it brought me so much joy. Gosh, talking that way about a lipstick is kind of sad… But it just did. This is such a gorgeous very dark shade which I personally love wearing with defined eye brows, mascara, flawless base and a bit of blush. Will definitely post a detailed review about it later.

Max Factor Glossfinity Nail Polish in Cerise

Since I am not wearing gels these days, I am back to one of my favourite nail polishes ever – Cerise from Max Factor. It is a vibrant fiery orangy red with a glossy finish. I am obsessed with it so much that I want to get a berry shade from the range.

After writing my 2015 makeup favourites, I re-discovered my love for Bobbi Brown’s Natural Brow Shaper & Hair Touch Up in Slate, I love how this cool-toned gel tints the brow, makes them look more defined and keeps them in place.

Rimmel Exaggerate Full Colour Lip Liner in 064 Obsession. These lip liners get so much love and rightly so, they are as good as the luxury ones: soft, pigmented and long-lasting. I am also a fan of the design.

Rouge Bunny Rouge Eye Shadow Palette in 086 Antigo. The newest release from the brand, and it is a good one. Four neutral shades that are perfect for an everyday. They come in a signature glossy black RBR compact, the eye shadows are embossed with a wavy pattern, the formula is smooth and easy-to-blend, as usual. Swatches coming up soon.

And what did you like this month?

  1. I love Clarins oils too… I shuffle btw Lotus (during summers) and Orchid (during winters) with Kiehl’s midnight recovery. Clarins Orchid Oil + Midnight Recovery has been my ride or die past couple of months. I am also into cream / crayon eye shadows lately and rediscovered some old favs Chanel Illusion d’Ombre in Illusiore and By Terry’s Brown Perfection .. I have been wearing these two alternatively past month. 🙂
