While I am still trying to figure out what were my absolutely favourite products of 2017, here is a feature on my January 2018 favourites, and since I have missed the November and December 2017, there are quite a few products.
While the first product is a firm favourite which I have been using for years (they have a new packaging now) the CT lipstick is a new addition to the products I love. I actually created a Pinterest board about this lipstick for a competition when it just launched. This was a product from a friend who thought I’d like it, and she was right, it is incredible. Gorgeous colour, opaque and not flat, and comfortable but, at the same time, long-lasting formula.
For the eyes I have four products: Clarins Graphik Ink Liner (Selfridges,Harrods, Escentual.com, Nordstorm, Sephora, Bergdorf Goodman.) is the best one I have used in a very long time: it is intensely black and glossy, long-lasting, and very easy to use. A firm favourite, I highly recommend. As for the Max Factor 2000 Calorie Curl Addict Mascara in Black Brown (Amazon and Amazon UK) long time readers will know that MF are the only high street mascaras that I use, I am a mascara snob, because, unfortunately, cheap mascaras do not work for me. And I did not plan on getting a Brown version I just did not look properly in the shop. Can’t believe this happened again. But I am loving the softer version of the dark brown.
I barely ever use anything from EL but I am absolutely in love with this eye shadow which was a present from the same friend who gave me the lipstick. This shade goes really well with my other all time favourites, my little duo which is always with me, and I love pairing it with my beloved Inglot Eye Shadows AMC Shine 37 (here). The colour and the sparkling finish are just dreamy.
I also have two Rouge Bunny Rouge (website) products: Pristine Light Light Corrective Eye Primer and Serene Light Skin Perfector. Both products deserve a separate post, and I am working on it. While the eye primer makes any eye shadow last longer and look more intense, the Skin Perfector is like a great looking skin in a bottle, in my opinion. It gives that polished glowy look which may be a bit too much for some people but it is like a miracle for my dry skin as it does not cling to my dry patches and smooths everything out. Being a primer it is not about the coverage (it does give a light coverage) but I never use foundation on top.
I also have to mention OPI Nail Envy Nail Strengthener (Amazon and Amazon UK), as it is as good as people were saying it is. Having non-stop gel manicures for over a year was not the best decision (for my nails, it is totally fine for some people) so this product really helps to minimize the damage. It is not the cheapest nail product but I am happy that I have bough it.
I have been a bit obsessed with hair care this month hence three products. One, which is ID Hair By The Sea, (Amazon, Amazon UK) will not be a surprise, as I have featured it many times already. I am a huge fan of the sprays that give volume and texture, and this one is fantastic. Leonor Greyl Serum de Soie Sublimateur Nourishing Hairstyling Serum (review), smooths the hair, leaves it glossy and shiny and smells incredible. I am still on a hunt for a perfect deep cleansing shampoo, and Label M Deep Cleansing Shampoo (Amazon, Amazon UK) does a good job. However, I still love Philip B the best.
Skincare and Perfume
I have been loving two scents this month: Jo Malone Red Roses Cologne which is my second bottle and is a “inspired by a voluptuous blend of seven of the world’s most exquisite roses. With crushed violet leaves and a hint of lemon, it unfolds like a bouquet of freshly cut flowers”. Some of my friends really dislike it, and say that it smells like an old gran but why would I care? It makes me think of a rose jam, my favourite. Could not be without it.
The other one is by & Other Stories Fig Fiction Eau de Toilette (here) which is described as a “musky green fig leaves swaying in the warm evening air. Plump currant berries and exotic pink pepper with the freshness of bamboo and wild fig are enhanced with Brazilian rosewood and dark plum.” While it is not long-lasting, the scent itself is very pleasant and delicate, and I have had quite few compliments already.
I have been very diligent with my skincare lately, and finally bought two products from the Ordinary (Cult Beauty), The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B 5 has made it to my favourites as it does make a visible difference in my skincare routine. I am also loving the Squalance oil so will be definitely getting more products from the brand.
Last but not least, not really beauty related but I wanted to include the Dear Diary planner which I have mentioned over at my Insta. Have been using it for a month only but am already addicted.
