Revlon Matte Lipstick in Pink Pout Review and Lip Swatches

As we are talking about lipsticks today I will show you the one I’ve been loving a lot lately! And it’s a matte lipstick by Revlon. I have to say that these days I am all about matte makeup. Besides lip products, I love matte eye shadows and slightly 60’s inspired look.

So here is what they say about the lipstick “Revlon Matte Lipstick gives suede-like application and maximum colour with on trend shades, that glide effortlessly across lips depositing rich, beautiful, matte colour.”

This is how the lipstick looks like and it has this interesting design where you can see the colour without opening it, very handy if you have a lot of similar lipsticks.

The shade I’ve got is called Pink Pout and I got it for £7.29 at Boots. And this is how it looks like swatched on the skin

My impression and lip swatches

So many people whose opinion I trust told me to try this lipstick, so I had to get myself one to give it a go. And you know what?! I am impressed!

As almost all matte lipsticks this one can be quite drying (but not as much as others) so  you may need some lip balm before applying it . Pink Pout goes on pretty smooth and doesn’t emphasize the dry parts of the lips as much as some lipsticks may do. Also this products is not heavy at all and you  don’t feel that you are actually wearing a matte lipstick. Moreover, it stays on pretty well!

Here it is swatches with a pink lip gloss on top and without a gloss and I love both effects.

I am happy that I got this lipstick and I will be sure to check out more of these. Besides lipsticks I’ve been quite impressed with Revlon lately so I plan to get some other products from the brand.

  1. it looks really lovely on you indeed! I haven’t tried any matte lipsticks yet, but do love other revlon products. their photoready foundation is ace

  2. i bought this lipstick because i was looking for a nice pink colour and after reading all the good reviews, decided to give it a try. i’m so disappointed. it’s more milky than pink and i look very washed out. when i put clear gloss, the lipstick disappears and i’m left with gloss only. i could get that look with just Vaseline on my lips. for me it was a waste of money, i won’t be buying this again.

    1. Hi Kelly,
Thank you. I don’t remember, unfortunately, as this post is from 2010. But I guess, any clear/lightly pigmented one would work to get that kind of effect.
