I love pink lipsticks, I really do. And I have quite a few, so I’ve decided to pick up five that I am loving at the moment to share with you!
Rimmel Colour Show Off Lipstick in Pink Gossip (full review and swatches)
I adore this lipstick line from Rimmel (and not only this one, I think they make the best affordable lipsticks). It has a nice texture, beautiful flattering warm toned pink shade and a matte finish, which I personally don’t find to be drying. In fact, I’ve used up half of this lipstick, if not more, and that says a lot. I only wish they had a different packaging but, I guess, most girls love pink…
Illamasqua Lipstick in Immodest (review and lip swatches)
Illamasqua do know how to make a lipstick that catches attention, this bright, pigmented, matte pink will brighten up any makeup look. Just make sure
I thought that would be nice to write about some affordable pink lipsticks, as I used to buy a lot of these back in the days (ha!) that I have. In fact, some of them I have never mentioned before.
So the lipsticks that I’ve chosen are:
Revlon Colorbust Lipstick in 020 Baby Pink
It has semi-sheer frosty finish and a light pink colour. Feels nice and non-drying on the lips, I personally like to blot it, as otherwise it looks too metallic for my taste. See it applied here.
Max Factor Xperience Sheer Gloss Balm in 02 Coral
This is my favourite out of five. It gives just a wash of colour, I’d say it’s a pinkish sheen, and I am personally not sure why is it called Coral. I love using it with intense eye makeup or just as an everyday lip product. I find that the “sheer gloss balm” is a very appropriate name, as it is exactly that. I have one more shade from the line and you can see them both on the lips here.
Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in 800 Pink Star
As you know by now, lipsticks with sheer coverage are huge for SS2011, you can get one pretty much from every high end brand: Chanel, Dior, Lancome, Yves Saint Laurent and others. But what if you can’t afford getting all those lipsticks but want to get a balm/gel like lipstick, too?!
I’ve found a great variant – Max Factor Xperience Boutique Sheer Gloss Balm( £7.99). Which are described as “sheer colour of a gloss, combined with the soft feel of a balm.”
These come in 3 shades: Coral, Pink Oys Shell and Pink Opal. And I was given 2 shades to try and, as I liked them a lot – I want to share with you.
First of all I have to say that I like the design and the fact that it’s a slim lipstick as I love slim lipsticks, they always look chic and elegant to me. It is easy to apply the product as it glides on and leaves the lips moisturized and shiny.
I love both shades which I have, 02 Coral is a light shimmering pink which is just my kind of colour, it gives a sheer coverage and you can apply it on the go without a mirror as it is very subtle.
As for the 07 Pink Oys Shell, it is a warm
