As promised, here is a feature about my favourite makeup of 2018. It was supposed to be makeup and beauty but I am already almost on 1200 words so had to divide the feature into 2 parts. I’ve chosen the products that I love and used the most hence some of them may look a bit grubby but it does show that they are true favourites.
Rouge Bunny Rouge SERENE LIGHT Skin Perfector (here). This is a slightly tinted primer which leaves your skin glowing and luminous. For my very dry skin it is perfect. It is a primer so barely gives any coverage but is great for adding radiance and creating that “healthy” polished look. I have used it on my wedding day, and used it up completely. Absolutely incredible! Gets big thumbs up from me.
The “foundation” I loved the most this year. A very light and moisturising one, feels light on the skin, and gives a light (to medium) coverage. According to Chanel, it contains a hyaluronic acid derivative and a complex of cotton flower and white rose plant cells. It has a relatively strong scent but I personally like it. Another thing I love about it is a chic and minimalistic tube. And SPF 15, of course.
IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Eye Lift In a Tube. Dual Ended Full Coverage Anti-Aging Concealer and Brightener (in Light). I am not sure if the name of this product could be even longer. (From Selfridges and Sephora)
Long time readers will know how I like only very light textures under my eyes hence I am such a fan of Touche Eclat (I’ve used many many tubes) and this Rouge Bunny Rouge gem. The same goes with this product, I did not use the concealer side at all. However, the Illuminator is incredible, I have almost used it up. It does not enhance the fine lines, while reflecting the light which brightens the under eye area. Just don’t expect it to cover the dark circles completely, it is not the task of this product. I wonder if this Illuminator is available individually. It seems like there is one with the same name ( It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Illumination Light).
4 theBalm Balm Desert (review).
I feel like the next two products do not need an introduction, as I’ve been talking about them non stop. I am determined to use this bronzer/blush until I am completely done with it. It sculpts and gives colour at the same time. You get definition and a healthy glow with Balm Desert. I also love the finish, it is not matte but not shimmery. Everything about it is great, including the cute cardboard packaging.
5 Daniel Sandler Watercolour in Golden Glow (review).
It’s like a healthy post-holiday glow in a bottle. A shimmery bronze which
Can you actually believe that is it June already, 06th month? We are almost half through 2017. How did it happen? But so far, 2017 was absolutely incredible so I am really looking forward to the rest of the year.
And here are the (beauty) products I have been loving in May:
EOS hand cream and lip balm (reviewed here)
I have finally discovered the joy that is EOS, the lip balm and hand cream, and they are dreamy. Non-greasy texture, incredible scents and both products leave your skin soft and smooth, body lotion from the brand is now on my “to buy” list.
I have been really tired lately, and my under-eye area really shows it, so after reading some very good reviews about this eye cream, I have decided to try it myself. The product is promised to target wrinkles, and is formulated with “a combination of high and low molecular Hyaluronic Acid”, it also contains SPF 15 which is great for protecting the delicate area. I use Hyaluron-Filler every morning and evening, without a fail, and I have to say that my under-eye area is looking and “feeling” better (smoother and more moisturized, and, hopefully, I am not the only one who can tell that).
Montale Roses Musk and Roses Musk Intense Perfumes
It is not a secret that I am a huge fan of
I think brands like Inglot and Kiko are taking the beauty world by storm. I mean what is not to like: huge selection of products, brilliant quality and affordable prices. Count me in! And while I’ve tried numerous products from Inglot over the years, somehow I just got my first Kiko product this summer only. But it is love...
I’ve decided to pick up their Long-Lasting Wet & Dry Use Eyeshadow to begin with, as it sounded and looked like something I’d enjoy using. There are 32 shades in general so it was a hard decision but I’ve managed to choose 202 Golden Mauve.
First of all, it looks absolutely gorgeous in the pan, you get a wavy pattern, and a handy lill’ mirror.
As for the shadows – the texture is great, it is buttery soft and very smooth, you can apply and blend it even with your finger.
When applied dry, the golden shimmer shows through more, especially when you gently pat it on – you get a
Rouge Bunny Rouge Long Lasting Eye Shadow When Birds Are Singing in Abyssinian Catbird Review and Swatches
Although I have already written about several Rouge Bunny Rouge eye shadows, somehow I’ve never featured the brand’s most famous shade (along with Delicate Hummingbird, but I don’t have it) – Abyssinian Catbird.
So here it is!
RBR describe this shade as metallic bronze with golden highlights, and it is truly beautiful! I have already sang praises to these eye shadows: they are very soft, pigmented, easy to blend and long-lasting.
I’d say that my favourite thing about RBR shadows is the
