Surprisingly, during the lockdown I’ve actually finally did some things I’ve wanted to do for ages but never even started. One of them was the fact that I’ve finally finished Perfumes: The Guide 2018 by Turin and Sanchez.
I have been meaning to learn more about perfumery for a long time, and this book was a great help.
You may say that perfumes are very subjective, and you are correct. But there are still some basic facts and knowledge which can be very helpful.
So in the last several years, I have been attending masterclasses held by the perfumers, reading about the history of the scent and, most importantly, going to the perfume counters, smelling the actual thing. And it’s been an incredible journey so far.
