Wow, this is something to get really excited about. Makeup book from Ellis Faas ! She is a genius so this must be a real eye candy.
I love how this book is described, so I will just leave you with the official promo release:
“It is typical of the art of ellis faas to question and destabilise the rules and expectations of the beauty industry, to explore definitions and push boundaries of beauty.
While adopting traditional tools and techniques of the trade, she attempts to transcend the industry’s restrictions, the idealised sense of perfection and the tendency towards global uniformity.
To this end she makes use, in turn, of visual
I always look forwards to Illamasqua launches and, although I personally love AW collections with dark shades and images much better, their SS are always fun & colourful and a pleasure to look at.
Here are some promo images from the Human Fundamentalism collection. The star of the collection is the teal lipstick as you can see.
There are two eye palettes, tel lipstick, two nail polishes, white eye liner, six matte eye shadows and LE shimmering shade of foundation.
Image below is stunning, I am pretty sure the model is wearing Havoc eye liner.
And this one is about the
Every time I see an e-mail from Ellis Faas I get excited as I know that it will be something beautiful.
This week I’ve got an e-mail about the new video called “A Family Affair” . The video has such name because it was shot in Ellis’ house, the model is her brother Thijs (how beautiful are his eyes?!) and the music was written by her daughter – Flavia.
“As a late teenager, I visited the Tate Gallery in London and was blown away by a Francis Bacon triptych. It made a great impression on me because of the use of colour – it was unnerving and stunningly beautiful at the same time. Bacon inspired many experiments I did over the years. I now think it has become
I always get very excited about the new Illamasqua collections as I know that there will be amazing visuals and a great story behind it.
Here is the new A/W 2011 makeup collection which is called The Theatre Of The Nameless.
I love Illamasqua’s press releases, so I thought I would include what they have to say about this collection. And let me tell you, it is definitely not for the faint-hearted. And, yes, I had to include all the promo photos. These are stunning and provoking, very Illamasqua.
“Descend into the riotous scene of erotic adventure that is THE THEATRE OF THE NAMELESS, nocturnal den of the dissident leaders of underworld subcultures. Exotic dancers rub shoulders with expressionist actors and performers; nudists and Boot Girls openly compete for the Conférencier’s eye; and all participate in the Club’s endless, pleasure-seeking rituals, immersing themselves in a heady world of sensual delight …
Teased by the sweet, pungent tang of opium, the air throbs with the electric shock of lovers’ flesh. Dare to feel the intensity of the club’s intimate caress, and abandon yourself to the glorious wonders of unfettered night-time make-up.”
“Theatre Of The Nameless is a heady mixture of opulent hues, decadent pigments and fearless application. A bruised and burnished pallet that gives a sensual slip that bleeds colour into colour, worn through and kissed off “ Alex Box, Illamasqua Creative Director.
