Makeup wise, it was pretty much all the same in February, and you can read about all the products here. There is also something very different from me this month – I’ve been loving nude lipsticks (which is a complete shock for me), and I will write a feature about it soon.
There are only two other makeup products that I want to mention:
Illamasqua’s Nail Varnish in Nomad. I wore in for the whole last week of the month, and this gorgeous jade set me in the mood for Spring. Not too pastel but not too bright, it is just perfect.
Max Factor’s Creme Puff Blush in 25 Alluring Rose. This is a shade created for medium and dark skin tones, so on me it looks like a bronzer. It blends out beautifully and gives a gorgeous glow. Look out for the feature about these new blushes this week.
As for the beauty products – I was very stressed and completely out of time in February, so shower time was the ultimate luxury and “me” time when I could just think and reflect on what was going on. I have tonnes of shower products in my tiny bathroom, and have been loving all of them, but two were very special.
Yves Rocher Oriental Shower Oil Review, a moisturizing subtly scented oil which was my dry skin’s best friend. And also L’Occitane’s Aromachologie Relaxing Shower Gel which was a very lovely present from a friend. It has a beautiful lavender, bergamot, mandarin, sweet orange and geranium scent. I want the body oil from the range now.
A quick mention to La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5 Hand Cream, I have almost used up my tube, it is that good. Repairs and protects your hands in cold weather.
My favourite skincare item of the month was Balance Me Cleanse and Smooth Face Balm. It is really good. Smells divine, gently exfoliates the skin and is perfect for that evening facial massage which also helps to unwind and leave everything behind (if only it was that easy).
One more beauty favourite in February was definitely niche perfumes. I am not very good in perfumery, so this month I truly enjoyed visiting all the shops with non-mainstream scents, talking with the shop assistants there, and just discovering this fascinating world. As I have posted on Twitter – I truly loved Maladie d’Amour Histoires D`Eaux. I must have it in my life. Top notes: curry, cinnamon, carnation. Heart: red fruit, coconut milk. Base: sandalwood, cedar.
I have a feeling that in March I will have a lot of hair care and styling products in my favourites, since I’ve cut about 15 cm of my hair and now can experiments with different styles. The thing is that I don’t have all the products I need, so will go shopping soon! I am thinking SachaJuan.
