September 2015: My Current Top 5 Affordable Makeup Products

My friends ask me all the time about my favourite high-street makeup products, and I have realized that I haven’t posted a top 5 [affordable makeup products] feature in ages (See previous ones here and here)… So here we go!

Max Factor Creme Puff Blush in Alluring Rose (review and cheek swatches)

If I had to choose only one product out of these – it’d be the blush. Regular readers know how many blushes I own, and the fact that I’ve barely touched any other  in months says it all. Creme Puff Blushes are dreamy! Soft and creamy, they blend beautifully and look gorgeous on the skin. I am a convert, and I have recommended it to a lot of my girlfriends, too. There are six shades in the range and I have swatches of three (click the link above). I can’t recommend these enough!

Rimmel Kate Moss Lasting Finish Lipstick in 45 (review and lip swatches)

Being a fan of Rimmel Kate Moss lipsticks I knew I’d  love the newest nude collection. And it is a great mauvy nude which doesn’t give that  dead-concealer-like effect but, on the other hand, has that nice glossy effect.  Smoky eyes best friend.

L’Oreal Glam Shine in Dazzle 201 Sparkle Shower (review and lip swatches)

I think you can see how well loved this gloss is. It is the one I carry with me in my handbag and use all the time. It feels great on the lips, has a peachy scent, cool applicator, and, most importantly, it’s a a true beauty – who doesn’t love a bit of sparkle?! I am half way through the tube and will definitely buy a new one.

Maybelline Master Smoky Shadow Pencil in Smoky Chocolate Review and Swatches (review and eye swatches)

This pencil is as good as luxury ones, quality wise. As the name suggest, it’s a smoky eye in a stick, so to speak. You simply apply it and smudge with the sponge on the other end, so you can use it even if you have no brushes, or on the go. Master Smoky and some mascara and you are done. Yes, it’s that easy. I am a fan of the dark brown shade but there are others to choose from.

Kiko Long-Lasting Wet & Dry Use Eyeshadow 202

I have mentioned  these eye shadows in July favourites but still haven’t done a detailed feature. But I promise to post a review+ swatches this month. 202 is such a stunning  brownish purple with golden shimmer. The formula is creamy and buttery, I even apply it with my finger sometimes. It can be used both wet and dry  and works amazing both ways.

It’s great to see how high-street brands are releasing so many high quality products lately. Who doesn’t love getting a product which does work without spending a fortune!

I’d love to hear what affordable products you’ve been loving lately, so please share. Anything I need to try?
