Recently I was re-organizing my beauty products and realized that I have quite a few blue nail polishes. In fact, considering that I have around 100 in general, 14 is not a small number.
Actually I am not a collector [when it comes to lacquers] and try to make sure that I don’t have a dupe before buying a new bottle and the photo below actually proves my point. Can you see that they all are very different?
So I have decided to show you my top 3:
Rimmel Lycra PRO Nail Polish in Blue Vogue
This is a gorgeous deep shimmering navy blue, such a chic and sophisticated shade, in my opinion. I really love the formula which is
So what are the news in the nail polish world?
First of all, lacquer fans have to know that Armani just launched a line of their own varnishes, each retails for £20 and on the picture above you can see 503 Eccentrico.
The always original Ciate came up with the new innovative manicure kit -Feathered Manicure . Pictured above is “What A Hoot” which retails for £20. And, yes, you basically use real feathers for your mani. It’s up to you to decided whether this is your thing, or not.
I was asked about my orange/coral/peach nail polishes, so I thought I’d write about those.
But I have to warn you that I (and this is shocker for a lot of people, I understand) don’t really like such shades. I have managed to gather six and some of them are definitely no longer available. But this will give you an idea, I guess.
This post also made me look at my old nail polish features and realize that my photos/ manicure techniques have improved a lot, thank goodness.
Illamasqua Nail Varnish in Alarm
This is technically a red with a coral twist but I thought I’d include it anyway, as it is my favourite and I am so happy I got it. It’s perfect for summer time and I use it a lot, as you can see. See it on the nails.
Inglot Nail Enamel in 949
Bright true orange with a hint of very delicate shimmer that is visible in the direct sunlight. This is like summer in a bottle.
Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear in 36 Crushed
I have got this one
For someone who is not exactly into “nude” nail polishes, I have quite a few. I have chosen seven which could fit the nude/taupe/brown-ish category.
So what shades do I have? And which is my favourite?
Dior Vernis in Grege
I love the wide and thin brush which makes the application super easy and fast. It is a beautiful warm shade which suits me when I get some tan. But if you have a light-to-medium warm skin tone – this may be a perfect nude for you. See it applied on the nails.
MeMeMe Long Lasting Gloss in Alluring
This is one of the darkest nail polishes from the selection, and should be a nice nude for people with darker skin. Or if you want a brown nail polish against the light skin. The quality is nice for the price, too. Swatches.
Yves Rocher Nail Polish in Taupe
This is definitely not a nude, but a taupe. Such shade was super popular several years ago and I can totally see why: it goes well with pretty much everything and doesn’t compete with your outfit or accessories. Manicure with it.
MeMeMe Long Lasting Gloss in Ambitious
It looks like that
I have quite a few Maybelline Colorama nail polishes, so I was curious to try the re-launched range. Compared to the old design (and my horrible photos) this new look is so much better, it is chic and looks like it could be a part of a luxury line.
The brush is also easier to use now, it’s not a wide-and-thin one but I can’t complain.
But since I have a lot of red nail polishes already (my favourite has to be Revlon Red, the best red, in my opinion), I gave this one to my aunt along with red lipstick. My uncle better appreciate, ha!
