This week was quite eventful in the beauty world, as Lisa Eldridge launched her Summer makeup collection. Of course, I loved the look of everything.
The thing is that I have too many liquid highlighters and blushes already to get any new ones. I am also not the biggest lipsticks wearer. This is why I chose a gloss. I was torn between Charm described as “a sweet, shimmery candy pink” and Delilah “a retro-futuristic, pinky violet shimmer”.
I went for Charm in the end, as it seemed like a great colour for an every day.
The photos of Lisa’s new releases are taking the Instagram by storm but here is an in-depth review. Spoiler – Gloss Embrace is as good, as you’d expect it to be.
There is a great attention to the detail:
In the ever-changing makeup world with all the new launches and re-launches, it is good to have some stability. Something like a product from the 80s which is still on the market today.
And I am talking about Chanel’s Joues Contraste blush here. It is a true icon! For me personally, it is still the ultimate luxurious blush, and I have real sentiments attached to it. That is because JC was one of the first luxury makeup items I’ve ever bought many years ago.
In fact, I have a feature from 2010 where I talk about one of the shades I have.
It’s just mad how the things in the beauty industry have changed with everyone and their nan launching a brand and the prices sky rocketing (£63 Hermes blush, anyone?)
On the contrary to all of the above, it’s great to see some consistency from Chanel. Of course, they
I did not post about Charlotte Tilbury makeup line which I a fan of in some time, which I did not realise at all. So here we are!
Charlotte is the makeup Queen and knows exactly how to create a good makeup line. Moreover, she is really clever when in comes to marketing, therefore brilliant at promoting her products just the right way.
As a result, all items are divided into looks. Furthermore, the eye products are designed for a specific eye colour to make our life easier.
Here I have two Colour Chamelions. They are eye shadows in a stick, if you wish. They are extremely easy to use: you just
I have been using Clarins SPF body oils for years but thought it was time for a change so I’ve got myself Decleor Aroma Sun Expert Summer Oil SPF30 150ml.
I have been using quite a lot of Decleor products, and loved all of them. This SPF oil is not an exception.
Packaging and Scent
First of all, it comes in bright and cheerful fuchsia packaging. Besides the packaging, it smells absolutely divine. If I am completely honest, “monoi” scent is what sold it to me, as I am a big fan.
The scent of sun care products can be a hit or miss. As you can guess, I personally love how Decleor Aroma Sun Expert Oil smells ! I find that
Here is, as promised, a new post about a small independent brand. This time let’s talk about the Notes of Northumberland.
Back in Autumn our friends very kindly sent these gorgeous wax melts, and I have spent most of the Winter days burning them.
About the Brand
Northumberland is one of my favourite places to visit in Britain so it was really lovely to have a reminder of those memories at home.
