February 2017 Beauty Favourites
Two months of 2017 are down, wow, how did it happen? But this means that it is time for monthly favourites.
To be honest, I loved/used pretty much the same products as in January, and there are very few additions.
Also, this month most of the the products I have been loving are very cheap affordable. Let’s take a look.
I have started using my lip liners more often – especially the ArtDeco Soft Lip Liner Waterproof in 80 (review and swatches) and Rimmel Exaggerate Full Colour Lip Lipner in East End Snob (review and swatches). I actually want to get the Rimmel one in red now, too. I don’t really overdraw my lips like there is no tomorrow, I mainly use them to create the shape I want, and make the lipstick look more defined. But if you want to create fuller lips – this video from Lisa Eldridge is pretty awesome.
The other cheap and cheerful product I loved is the Makeup Revolution Natural Nudes Eyeshadow Redemption Palette Iconic 3 (you can get it from Amazon UK or Amazon) which, according to all the reviews is a dupe for Urban Decay’s Naked 3. I have so many Urban Decay palettes which I have been buying over the years, but for some reason I barely ever use them, however I have been reaching for this Revolution one all the time. There are several shades I really love, and the quality is very decent, in my opinion. This palette was a present from a friend.
It’s not a secret that my favourite affordable skincare brand is
Rimmel Exaggerate Full Colour Lip Liners Review and Swatches. Rave
Rimmel Exaggerate Full Colour Lip Liners are a cult product among the beauty lovers, especially the East End Snob shade.
Let’s find out why…
First of all, the design is amazing, these pencils look way more expensive than they actually are, and it is great that each shade has a matching packaging. Exaggerate Full Colour Lip Liners don’t need sharpening, and help with a precise application, as they are not too thin but not too thick either.
As for the formula – it is all you need in a
Favourite Red Lips Combo: Stila and ArtDeco
If you follow me on Instagram or read my About section – you have probably noticed that black and red are my favourite colours. I can never have too many black clothes or too many red lipsticks and nail polishes.
I have written about that so many times, but today I want to share my latest red lip combo obsession which I have discovered “by accident ” and have been wearing for weeks now. It is the red that I have been rocking all holidays. I even included a photo…
So what are the products?
ArtDeco Soft Lip Liner Waterproof in #8 (review and swatches) (It is available for £8.40 from Beauty Bay.)
I have shared my love for this so many times… I like how long lasting and matte it looks, and the deep cool toned red. But I just wanted something brighter and warmer. So I have decided to put Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Tesoro (review and swatches; £15/$22. You can buy Stila from Sephora and Beauty Bay. Sephora) on top. On its own Stila is too warm and orange for my complexion. But together it was a dream-came-true combination.A classic matte, vibrant, full-on red! Show stopper, if you want. It also
Rouge Bunny Rouge Long-Lasting Lip Pencil Forever Yours in Marco Review and Lip Swatches
Today I want to tell you about the lip product that I really like and it’s Rouge Bunny Rouge’s Long-Lasting Lip Pencil Forever Yours in Marco.
I find that the name Forever Yours is a good one for this product, as it is very long-lasting. Despite being matte, the formula is soft and glides on easily. And I love using it all over the lips. For a natural effect I then blend it in with my fingers or – for a more statement visual I just add two layers to build up the colour.
I would suggest using a lip balm before (but not straight before the application), as your lips need to be a a good condition for such product. Obviously, being a
ArtDeco Soft Lip Liner Waterproof in 80 Review and Swatches
I am a big fan of ArtDeco’s Soft Lip Liner Waterproof so decided to pick up a berry/plum shade from the line. Unfortunately, the shade I wanted was sold out so I’ve got a cool toned pink one.
It is called 80 Precious Plum but for me it is a perfect “my-lips-but-better-and-brighter” colour, my everyday shade. It is darker and deeper than my natural lip colour but the tone is very similar, so it works great.
This pencil is soft and long-lasting, as the name suggests. I love using it with lipsticks, all over the lips for a matte effect of with a gloss on top.
I think it is a fantastic lip pencil for an affordable price. I am definitely coming back for a
