January 2014 Beauty Favourites

It’s the last day of January, so it means that it’s my dearest brother’s Birthday, time for monthly favourites.

First of all, this month it’s been all about the face oils, different ones, some of  them are pictured below. As I’ve shared recently I’ve been walking a lot, thinking more about the food I eat and about my skincare, and I can definitely see the positive changes in the way I feel, and in the way my skin looks.

Oils for Face Estelle & Thild, Angela Langford, Aromatherapy AssociatesYou can read my post about the oils shown above here. In fact, as I am writing this, I plan on purchasing some new oils. I’ve heard so many great things about Tarte’s Maracuja Oil and Josie Maran’s oil, so have to give them a go! Or maybe I should just get this set? It looks SO good!

I have been also loving all my body and hair oils and plan to get some  new ones, too. Making the list, so your recommendations are welcomed.

As for other beauty products, I’ve been loving:

Makeup

Maybelline Color Tattoo 24HR in Metallic Pomegranate (review)

It is such a gorgeous brownish purple with golden shimmer, my new love in terms of eye shadows.

Clarins Instant Light Radiance Boosting Complexion Base in Rose

Review coming soon. If you want a subtle glow and radiance to your skin, this is the  product for you. There are quite a few ways you can use it, and I personally love using it all over the face under the light base, so that it can show through. It smooths the skin and adds that healthy luminosity, without being greasy or oily. Gorgeous!

January 2014 Beauty Favourites clarins jo malone yves rocher lorealClarins Ombre Minerale Eye Shadows in 01 White Sparkle (review)

Never thought this shade would make it to my favourites, but I have been wearing this sparkling silver eye shadow a lot.  Mostly paired with an eye liner and lot of mascara!

Clarins Joli Rouge Lipstick in 738 Royal Plum (review)

Beautiful formula and perfect shade for winter, love it!

Skincare and Hair Care

Jo Malone Vitamin E Moisturising Day Crème Broad Spectrum SPF 15

Not sure if I ever mentioned this product, but it’s the cream that I have been using and loving during several (cold) months now, I better write a detailed review soon.

Yves Rocher Nutritive Vegetal Velvety Toner for Dry and Very Dry Skin (review)

I’ve written about this toner only several days ago, it is such a nice addition to my skincare routine.  It is gentle, soothes and calms the skin and prepares it for the serum/oil/cream.

L’Oreal Professionnel Serie Expert Volume Expand Root Lift Spray (review)

While I am still thinking what exactly stylist products from Kersatase I need, I’ve been loving this L’Oreal’s volume spray. I don’t really like using salt sprays in winter, as I prefer smoother and glossier hair now, so this product was very useful!

Also a honourable mention to my Cowshed candles that I’ve enjoyed burning this month!

  1. Yup, January has been face oil month over here too! They do make such a difference to your skin, right? I’ve definitely noticed the results, though I’ve still to find my rhythms when it comes to eating properly and exercising regularly (stress doesnt help)!
Btw that Clarins product sounds lovely! i wonder how it compares to the flash balm now!

    1. Hi Tina,
I wish I would stick to my exercise routine religiously, heh.
      And, yes, oils rock!
As for the Clarins products, this one is like a primer/highlighter hybrid, FB doesn’t give that kind of “shimmer”.
