While I did try to write about the beauty products I’ve used up, at some point I’ve got annoyed, as having a huge bag of empty bottles at home was not cool. But I’ve started posting what new products I get to replace some of those I’ve used up over at my Instagram
However, I do want to share my makeup empties. And, considering how many products I actually have, finishing even one is kind of a big deal. And I have five! I did not include any mascaras though, as I do use up several every year.
Dior Addict Lipstick in 561 Baby Rose (review and swatches)
I loved this lipstick so much and I would re-purchase it, however, Dior re-launched this line, so I will have to look for a similar version. Barely there sheer pinks are my version of a nude lip, so I do end up using quite a lot of lip products like this.
Clarins Instant Light Lip Balm Perfector in 01 Rose (review and swatches)
Another sheer pink, and another Clarins Instant Light Lip Balm Perfector empty. I have finished quite a lot of these during the years, both glosses and
As weird, as it sounds I don’t really care about dark under eye circles or bags that much. Although I understand the corrector-concealer-powder concept for the under eye area, that is something you’d almost never see me doing. In fact YSL’s Touche Elcat is the only product I have ever used up which I am using under the eyes.
All I care about is a light coverage and some light reflection. This is obviously, my personal preference, and I do use a lot of products when I am doing someone else’s makeup.
This is why I am excited to share about one of my favourite Rouge Bunny Rouge products. Glide Concealer NAKED DISGUISE which is described as “bare skin but better”. And that is exactly that!
This is my favourite under eye product, ever. It feels really light on the skin and gives that very natural light-to-medium coverage, and you can still see the texture of the skin. It is enough to make you look fresher and
It is the time when I am telling you about my favourite products of the year. I did not pick a product in each category just for the sake of having one, but rather only those that really stood out for me.
The first part will be about makeup. Here we go…
Base:Clarins HydraQuench Tinted Moisturizer (review)
Although there were quite a few “foundations” I loved, this tinted moisturizer was the base of 2014. It gives a natural and glowing light-t0-medium coverage, and leaves the skin looking beautiful. HydraQuench is one of my favourite skincare ranges, and this TM is just as good, as everything else, works perfectly for my very dry, dehydrated and sensitive skin. I am very pleased that it never accentuated any dry patches I sometimes have.
Concealer: Clarins Instant Concealer (review)
Definitely the best concealer out there, covers the dark circles and brightens the under eye area, doesn’t get in the fine lines, stays on really well.
Powder: Rouge Bunny Rouge Flawless Face Powder Precious Velvet (review)
I have to say that
Today I want to tell you about the concealer that was in my 2012 favourites – Benefit Erase Paste.
There was actually a post about it already but there was a problem with the website and, unfortunately, it got erased, and I never re-wrote it. So here we go…
The brand describes this products as a “brightening camouflage for eyes & face”. And I totally agree about the eyes. I personally don’t use it on the face but it is perfect for under the eyes.
The peachy-toned concealer instantly brightens the under-eye area and counteracts the dark circles. You can also apply something like Touche Eclat on top, if you wish, to reflect the light.
Just make sure that you apply the tiniest amount of the Erase Paste, it is very pigmented and
So, as promised (read part 1 here), here are some makeup tips on how to look your best for when you are tired but still want to make the best out of your appearance. In part one, I have shared all my tips about the complexion and now it’s time for makeup itself.
I find that the way your eye brows look makes a huge difference in your appearance, as they frame your face. Just make sure that you don’t create a very dark or harsh shape, unless you are going for a dramatic look. Just feel in any gaps you may have and cheat the shape slightly, if you wish to. I like Anastasia’s kit with the powders and wax.
Curl your lashes! Now this is a very important step. I have already shared that it took me years (WHY?) to get decent curlers, shu’s of course, although all the Top MUAs always raved about curling your lashes. I should have invested earlier, as they [curlers] make a huge difference. They do open up your eyes! I refuse to be without mine now.
As for the eye shadows, I would suggest
